TODAY'S INTENTION

OBSERVE - gaining insight into what feeds our soul

Today, let's take stock throughout the day to improve our connection to Self.

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION

Read today's affirmation out loud with purpose and intent:

“I honor my commitments to my health and well-being.”

The Harvest is underway.

We have the opportunity to gauge what we have to carry us through Winter.  Do we have enough tomatoes to can or just enough to eat? How much squash did we grow?  Enough cucumbers to pickle?

We also take stock of our mental, emotional and spiritual harvest. Did we make a commitment to create daily, meditate daily, connect with Nature, observe and journal our conditioned patterns?  Are we honoring that commitment?

Taking Stock

What did you grow this year?

I grew a garden-tomato, cucumber, onion, eggplant, squash, melon, etc.  I grew Patience (still tending that).  I grew my commitment to daily creativity (I get a gold star).  The desire to declutter is becoming hard to ignore.  I will plant the seeds of my decluttering commitment for at least 30 min per day but it is only the desire that is planted so far.  The same with organization but both are becoming a necessity.  I planted acceptance for people being and believing as they will.

What can you preserve or create that will carry you through the Winter cycle?

Tomatoes-a lot of them, Creativity Commitment, Acceptance and Allowance for myself and others, Taking the time during the end of the Autumn Season and through the Winter to honor the commitments I made to myself.

How can you prepare your inner and outer spaces for rest and reflection?

I can make a firm commitment beginning today towards decluttering and organization.  That will prepare both inner and outer spaces.  Make good, hearty soups, Wash my warm blankets.  Check the pantry for staple items. Stay off of my phone and the internet.  Make a FIRM meditation commitment.

Are you familiar with Rune Stones?

The Rune symbols are an ancient Anglo Saxon alphabet over 2000 years old. Traditionally they were used for protection, gravestone markings, communication and magic.

No one knows for sure the origins of the rune alphabet but there is something mystical and wise about these symbols.  (If you want more information on runestones and their use there is great information online).

Today we are going to make our own symbolic language.

The Symbols of Autumn

After reading the Autumn Inspiration above let's make at least ten symbols that resonate with this season with an explanation of our meaning.

“As I observe the bounty of my harvest, I am blessed by the many choices I have available to feed my soul with.

I am grateful for _____________________ “

COMMUNITY CONVERSATOIN

Taking stock will help us acknowledge our “harvest” and lay a foundation that will not only take us through the end of Autumn but through the Winter with grace.  We ask a lot of ourselves (and maybe others as well) and creating space for love, rest and reflection, once we have taken stock and prepared, aligns us with a safe, warm sanctuary to weather this cycle.

Please share your ideas, symbols and creative musings in the comments below or the Art Room Activity Feed.
